BBQ Thanksgiving

This year, since we were nowhere near family for thanksgiving, we were invited over by one of the members of the bishopric.  They had steak and potatoes for their main course.  At first I thought they were joking when they said that is what they were having, but when we arrived there, sure enough that is what they had on the BBQ out back. It was definitely non traditional; however it was absolutely delicious.
We still had pumpkin pie and chips and snacks and jello stuff like that. We played a really fun game His daughter brought with her... The name of the game is kinda a turn off, however the game was really fun. It is called " Smart Ass"  it is not like the typical trivia game. It has things that you have to figure it out... so there are hints along the way to each one.. like who am I? or where am I?  and What am I? those were the 3 decks of cards with questions on them. Again it was pretty fun. I wish they could change the name of it.. maybe an edited version cause it is written all over everything.. It was quite funny though when she brought it out. She is moved out of the house, but he just shook his head and said something along the lines of " wow, I am so proud of my daughter" just laughed a bit...  We watched some movies also. Overall we had a great time and were happy not to be by ourselves on this holiday.
I wonder how many people went out on the crazy friday morning sales there were so many things we wanted to get, but we didn't have the money for it all..So we narrowed it down and decided the one thing that would come in handy would be the dvd player for the car. So we spent only 88 for the double screens that hook to the neck rest of the front seats. EmmaLynn loves it so far... Every time we get in the car now she says " movie"  It is so funny. We are definitely going to need that on our trip home this spring.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and is ready for Christmas and the New Year.  I know I can't wait.
