EmmaLynn's 1st birthday was on March 4th. We didn't celebrate big till this weekend. These are pictures from her birthday party with the White Family and friends.

Here is the cake... it took her a long time to get her to put it in her mouth.. but then she wanted it to get wiped off her hands.. it was sooo cute!

Here is the Ladybug cake we made for EmmaLynn... we had to use red sprinkles cause we couldn't get the frosting red.. it kept coming out pink... it tuned out pretty good for sprinkles!

Happy B-day, EmmaLynn! She is adorable. And great job on the cakes- the sprinkles look great! Grandma shared a secret with me about red frosting when I was making my 1st Elmo cake for Hailey... don't use the food coloring drops, use the paste. And make the frosting a couple of days before you need it because it becomes darker with age. If it doesn't seem to be darkening enough, add a bit more, but too much can alter the taste. It has worked like a charm for me!
thanks for the information... we actually made the frosting mostly out of cream cheese cause we don't like a ton ton of sugar... I think that was also part of the problem cause it was mostly cream cheese... the black didn't work either till we went and bought chocolate frosting then mixed the black dye with it... so... it worked out..
